Key Concepts
Amortization: A shorter amortization will pay less interest over the life of the loan but will have a higher monthly payment.
Mortgage Term: For reference, the term of your mortgage does not impact your initial monthly payment. (i.e. a 3 year mortgage and and a 5 year mortgage, both with a 30 year amortization, will each have the same monthly payment.)
